Ardshellach has a wonderful situation facing due south over Loch Etive - a sea loch which extends eastwards from the Atlantic Ocean, then northwards towards Glencoe. It is one of Scotland’s most beautiful, and, towards the north, most remote lochs.
At the end of a small private road above Loch Etive, Ardshellach enjoys, from its raised position above the loch, wide, sweeping views over loch, mountains and rolling farmland. Overlooking the Bay of Achnacree, it is situated two miles east of Connel Bridge and the celebrated Falls of Lora, which are five miles from Oban.
Ardshellach is unusual in that it is a private, individual house which was purpose-built for holidays, and designed with quality, comfort and ease of running very much in mind. It is still owned by the Scottish family who built it in 1971, and who live in the south of England. It is just as suitable for two people seeking peace and privacy as it is for family holidays.
